I fell for another one, another nickel-and-dime-ya to get a complete story. I liked the story, it's well written, but I hate getting a story chapter by chapter. Although I'd love to know what happens, I am not buying the next "book".

Consumed The MMA Romance Series Book #1 edition by Alycia Taylor Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Braxton was certainly a play-boy or used to having girls at his beck-and-call. He's a constant flirt. It almost seemed like a mask to me. Like a fake attitude or personality to keep people from getting to know him better. Throughout the story, you could see him starting to care about Emmi more and more, even if he doesn't realize it.

Emmi is a cute character. To me, she doesn't seem like a girl who stands up for herself in a major, hardcore type of way. She usually just walks away or rolls her eyes. She's not much into violence. She seems tolerable of Braxton at first, and slowly starts to care for him more and more.

I wish the story didn't end so quickly, but this was only part one.
I'm interested in seeing what the second part has to offer.
Yeah okay it was a fun little read I guess, but ultimately it was a great, big cliche. Both of the characters really were annoying. And I have no interest to read the rest of the books in this series. The guy is just another horny college boy and the girl is just another......cliche. The book was short too and I felt that there wasn't any actual character development. I couldn't even feel the chemistry between these two considering all this guy was looking for was just a lay anyways.

And I hated that trip to the zoo. I felt like I was reading a high school romance at that point. Really? I mean you just had to sneak in and pretend to be part of their group and was jealous over some guy expressing interest in her. He didn't even have a reason to be jealous.

So no I'm not going to waste my time reading the entire series. It got off to a bad start and I'm sure from there it's all going to be downhill.
Cute girl gets her heart broke by her first love and decides to change college and move away. She ends up with a handsome playbook as a room mate. After disturbing him with another girl. She tries dodging him at all cost until he tricks her into a date with him. He is arrogant and sexy and the story gets boring from there. Sorry , I was just tired of reading the same old tale again. Maybe this is just a bad night for me to get excited about this book.
Storyline 2 Heat 2 Overall 2 Recommend No
Great little short series! BUT,BEWARE this is ONE book split into a bunch of little books. The first one was free, (great deal to grab me in) then the story continues (@ .99's) OK, not bad to read to the end, then another short book (NOT .99) I was into $6 bucks and still didn't get to read how this all wraps up.I felt so ripped off! This reader loved the story line (would liked to have finished it) but cant wrap my brain around a $3.00 price tag for a short story under 100 pages! This author has great talent but if she wants me to continue to look for her books (and buy them) then you need to make it into one book and at a price I don't fell taken advantage of. Readers such as myself, read thousands of books a year, Life is to short to deal with the pangs in my wallet for a series that will cost me over the average price I've allowed my self to spend. This is why you lost a star. Other wise, keep up the good work and maybe someday it wont be about ripping off your fan base to squeeze every dime out of them, instead it will be about a loyal group who will adour your work and BUY all your books BECAUSE WE CAN.
This book didn't work for me. I gave it 2 stars because I think the bones were there to make this a good story. First, this was really, really short. I feel like this is becoming more and more common with books. They keep getting shorter and shorter and more expensive.

The story started good because I liked that finally a female character wasn't going to fall head over heels for the guy right away. I felt comfortable kicking off my shoes and lying down to read the book, but sadly shortly after that the story flipped for me. The girl decided that she liked him the very next day. Why?? I can't comprehend these things. If you aren't interested, or don't like someone how can you all of a sudden decide he is the "one"? Not only that but I felt some of the inner dialogue the male character had was beyond ridiculous.

I want to read a good story where a girl can stand up for her convictions. She doesn't get into an instant relationship. Where are the books where the characters grow together?? I want a deeper more meaningful story apparently and this wasn't it.
First of all, serials annoy me. I know it's the hot new way to publish & everything, but I like having the whole story in one book. Now, this is different than a SERIES. I love series. I love connected stories & getting to know large casts of characters who get their own stories... The difference is in the completion of the story. I have given several serials a chance because they looked good enough to be worth it, but then the first book is nothing but filler - nothing happens. So annoying!

Then we have Consumed. This one did a good job of establishing both characters, and letting them get to know each other, even in a limited amount of pages. And it does close a general story arc at the end, giving us something to look forward to in the next installment w/o being melodramatic or "cliffy."

Will I read the rest of the serial? Possibly, if it's put into one volume once complete. The writing is good and I did find the story engaging, so I would like to read it, but not so much in pieces. So, while this wasn't a 5 star read for me, it was very good and if you like serials, I would recommend this one based off its beginnings. )
I fell for another one, another nickel-and-dime-ya to get a complete story. I liked the story, it's well written, but I hate getting a story chapter by chapter. Although I'd love to know what happens, I am not buying the next "book".
